SPS Learning Designers Represent at TEACHx

TEACHx, a fun day set aside to explore teaching and learning, will be held on May 18, 2022, in the Norris Student Center. We encourage you to join the Distance Learning staff as we take some time out to think about creative, effective teaching as we listen to a variety of presenters talk about their recent experiments and what they have learned from them. We encourage you to learn more and register at TEACHx.com.

The School of Professional Studies’ learning designers will present some of their innovative work.

  • David Noffs and Assistant Director Shannon Castle will be part of the digital poster session and talk about the new e-portfolio tool used by the IDS (Information Design and Strategy) master’s program. This e-portfolio helps students easily share and spotlight their work samples achieved during their studies. (Grab a coffee and browse through the posters, 8:30-9:30 a.m., Louis South)
  • Jackie Wickham Smith and Angela Xiong will lead a workshop called “Developing Effective Instructions for Online Discussion,” which will help instructors think through how to foster meaningful, inclusive course discussions.  (1:35-3:05 p.m., Lake Room)
  • Krissy Wilson also will be hosting a digital poster. Her poster will discuss the engagement strategies of Twitch streamers and their applicability to synchronous online learning. Stop by the digital posters session to learn more. (8:30-9:30 a.m., Louis South)
