If you enroll in the SMARTer Research Study, you’ll be randomly assigned to one of three groups: the App Group, the Self-Guided Group, or the Diabetes Prevention Program Group. This decision will be like flipping a coin – we cannot chose which group you’re assigned to, and you can’t select one either!
The Study Conditions
Participants in the App program will receive:
- Online lessons
- Access to a smartphone application
- 17, 10-15 minute long calls with a Health Promotionist
- Loaned study equipment (a Fitbit activity tracker and a wireless scale)
- Follow-up Assessments with study staff
