Welcome to the Shukla lab! We are housed in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago. With state-of-the-art technologies, strong passion and curious imagination in our toolkit, we aim to make scientific discoveries of profound importance. We are intrigued by alternative conformations that DNA commonly adopts and its implications in fundamental processes such as gene regulation, genomic stability, cellular differentiation and malignant transformation. We are also interested in elucidating the molecular underpinnings that mediate efficient immune responses. Our research program impinges on many exciting and largely unexplored areas of biology that have the potential to impact several existing paradigms.
