How do liquid molecules move over a surface? There are very good answers to this question if the concern is for averaged values of position and velocity of the liquid molecules. However, the motions of the individual molecules are largely unknown. We are investigating the molecular motions of liquid as they move over solid surfaces. Our goal is to learn how to direct the motion of individual molecules through surface chemistry and geometry.
