Greenhouse Effect I

GREENHOUSE EFFECT

THE EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE IS TRANSPARENT TO VISIBLE LIGHT, BUT ABSORBS MUCH OF THE INFRARED (IR) LIGHT DUE TO GASES INCLUDING H2O AND CO2

HENCE INCOMING LIGHT FROM SUN PASSES THROUGH,

HEATS THE EARTH, IS RERADIATED AS IR, MUCH OF WHICH IS ABSORBED BY THE ATMOSPHERE
