I’m interested in conjugated molecules for organic electronics. I studied Photophysics and Molecular Materials at the University of Bologna, and I liked it so much that I decided to stay for my PhD in Physical Chemistry. I focused on pentacene stability under electric field, and on fullerene-based liquid crystals for photovoltaic applications, using mainly semi-empirical methods and (TD)DFT.

I then moved to Bordeaux where I worked on MD simulations of organic crystals under mechanical strain, particularly rubrene.

In the Schatz group I will be using both MD and electronic structure methods to correlate morphology and electronic properties of small molecule acceptors for organic photovoltaics.

Outside of the lab I take photos, go to concerts, and travel. In between, I’m a bike commuter.
