I grew up in the small city of Bankura in India. I received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 2014, followed by a master’s degree in Chemistry in 2016, both from Visva-Bharati. I was awarded the INSPIRE scholarship by DST, India (2011-2016). Then I received the Junior Research Fellowship by CSIR, India (2016-2021) for pursuing Ph.D. I obtained my Ph.D. from Visva-Bharati, India in 2021. My graduate research focused on understanding the electronic structure of nanomaterials to demonstrate their applications in photovoltaics.

After completing my Ph.D., I was a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Mario Barbatti at Aix Marseille University, France, from November 2021 to October 2023. During my time at Aix Marseille University, I worked on the photoluminescence (fluorescence and phosphorescence) of chromophores, as well as the photoexcited processes and non-adiabatic molecular dynamics of organic molecules in the gas phase and complex environments.

Currently, I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the group of Prof. George Schatz at Northwestern University, where I have been since January 2024. I am studying plasmon-induced electron transfer processes and functionalized low-dimensional materials for single-photon emission and other photoluminescence processes.

Outside of work, I like traveling, reading and cooking.
