Engineered geomaterials

Within the scope of engineered geomaterials, research is being performed to understand the response of soil, rock and concrete subjected to multiphysical perturbations, such as heat and electrical current flows, as well as to investigate how these perturbations can be employed to engineer the properties and behavior of such materials across scales. In the context of this research, a variety of experimental, analytical and numerical techniques are employed to advance the status quo and push the current knowledge boundaries across the fields of materials science, geomechanics, structural mechanics and energy.
