Diego Guerrero

Diego Guerrero is a Lead Economist at Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy. Diego is an applied microeconomist specializing in public and labor economics. His work evaluates federal policies like the impact of the Earned Income Tax Credit on intergenerational mobility and labor market outcomes, and the effects of inter-government transfers of military hardware on local police reports. His recent publications include a study on infrastructure upgrades and their impact on elementary school attendance in Uruguay.

Diego holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Prior to joining Northwestern, Diego was a research assistant at the Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Tennessee. He also collaborated with the Inter-American Development Bank, supporting policymakers integrate state-of-the-art technologies in data science and forecasting.
