The six-volume Springer Encyclopedia of Tribology, with Q. Jane Wang and Yip-Wah Chung as Chief Editors, contains 646 entries in 30 technical areas. It was made possible by a team effort of 36 section editors and 584 authors from universities, industries, research institutions, and laboratories from at least 40 countries, together with many reviewers, as well as a group of production editors, in this international endeavor. Its scope spans from tribological science to surface/interfacial engineering, from tribological designs to manufacturing processes, from instrumentations to testing techniques, and from analytical-numerical methods to technological innovations.
Encyclopedia of Tribology has received at least 555K downloads and 745 citations (publisher’s data); it is now one of the most popular top science-engineering reference books.
