Livestream: Angela Davis w/ Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor

This Wednesday, November 16, world-renowned activist, scholar, and author Angela Davis will discuss her new book, Freedom is a Constant Struggle, with Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, Assistant Professor of African American Studies at Princeton University.

Davis is an outspoken advocate for the marginalized and oppressed, writing on Black Liberation, prison abolition, and the intersections of race, gender, and class. Taylor received her PhD from Northwestern’s African American Studies Department in 2013 and recently published her first book, From #BlackLivesMatter to Black Liberation.

The event is in Hyde Park, but Northwestern University’s Center for Civic Engagement and the NU Public Humanities Colloquium invite the Northwestern community to watch the livestream in Harris 108 starting at 7:30. Refreshments will be served, and we will hear a current student as well as a local activist reflect on the conversation.

Attendees will be entered into a raffle to win free copies of the speakers’ books.
