Avi Alpert received his PhD in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014. He was a Mellon Postdoctoral Associate at the Center for Cultural Analysis, Rutgers University, from 2014-16. This year he will be a Fulbright Scholar at the Federal University of Bahia. His writings have appeared in diacritics, Postcolonial Studies, Theory, Culture & Society, Third Text and elsewhere. He is also co-editor, with Sreshta Rit Premnath, of Dictionary of the Possible (Volume 22 of Shifter).
