I am not sure if I have an ORCID already. What should I do?

You should search the ORCID database to ensure you do not already have an account. If you created a duplicate ORCID, go to Account settings > Remove a duplicate record to delete the record.


My login for ORCID is from my old institution. How do I get access back?

Try using your old email and password to access the account. Once you log in, update your current email. If this does not work, use the support form on the ORCID website. You may want to add a personal email account as a backup. All email addresses can be set to private on your ORCID profile.


What happens when I leave Northwestern?

Your NetID to ORCID link will automatically end when you leave Northwestern.
