Research

The research projects enable NURPH students to dig deep into a new area of science while learning new concepts and skills. Research projects vary each year depending on the interests of students and their mentors, and specific details about upcoming projects will be provided throughout the application process. Past research projects are a good example of the scope of projects undertaken by NURPH students. Follow the links to see past research posters from 2024, 2023, and 2022.

Example research areas:

  • Materials for energy harvesting, generation, and storage
  • Mechanical characterization of metals and alloys for structural applications
  • Polymers for sustainable textiles and composites
  • Nanomaterials for biomedical applications

Research Posters

At the end of the program, students present a research poster at a poster session attended by the NU Materials Science & Engineering community, as well as the students’ family and friends. This poster session is a showcase of research and communication skills developed by the students through the program.
