Professional Development

We deeply care about
  • Implementing activities to aid postdocs to transition to careers in academic and non-academic fields.
  • Promoting leadership skills among Northwestern’s postdocs.
  • Creating networking opportunities with academic and non-academic fields.
We act catalytically
Covering a broad range of topics relevant to our fellow postdocs requires fitting approaches. As such we regularly organize events in different formats, from networking lunches to panel discussions to workshops to entire symposia.
Currently planned projects
  • Panels on fellowships, especially the NIH K99/R00 program
  • Events focused on how to take advantage of resources at Northwestern, like the Searle Center
  • Writing groups to help motivate progress
We serve both campuses
We closely collaborate and organize events, especially over Zoom, to allow for postdocs at both the Evanston and Chicago campuses to attend.
