Conference on AI & National Security

On October 12, the Northwestern Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs and McCormick School of Engineering will host a Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) & National Security to showcase the work of the Northwestern Security & AI Lab (NSAIL).

Led by Northwestern McCormick’s Walter P. Murphy Professor of Computer Science and Northwestern Buffett Faculty Fellow V.S. Subrahmanian, NSAIL conducts fundamental research in AI relevant to issues of cybersecurity and counterterrorism. NSAIL researchers have presented at a broad range of academic conferences and venues for public policy discussion and negotiation including the United Nations, Capitol Hill and the Mumbai Stock Exchange, and their work has been featured in outlets from The Economist and The Wall Street Journal to Science and Nature. 

The Conference on AI & National Security will feature a range of presentations and panel discussions from leading experts in AI, cybersecurity and national security. In-person conference attendees will also be invited to attend a working lunch with live demonstrations of advanced technology developed by the lab.
