Poster Instructions

Please note: Individual research posters will not be presented. Instead, each NRT project site will create a single poster as a team about your program. Newly awarded 2019 NRT Programs will be featured at the Wednesday Welcome Event, and their posters will be created by the meeting organizers. All programs listed on the Poster Sessions page need to design, bring, and present their own posters. Thank you.

The poster sessions are an opportunity to build community, connections, and exchange ideas with participants from other sites in the service of every NRT achieving its goals. We hope you will embrace this opportunity to share your project strengths and the elements of the program that you are most energized about. Think of your poster as a conversation starter with someone not familiar with your NRT project. It does not have to encompass every detail of the project.

Content/Design

  • Please organize your poster around a main goal or a strength of your project. Describe what is energizing or exciting about this element.
  • The goals of the poster are two-fold:
    1. The poster composition draws someone in with strong visual design in order to start the conversation.
    2. The combination of the poster content and the team member presenting the poster will result in the other meeting participants learning something important about your NRT.

Technical Instructions & Logistics

  • Teams directed by NRT PIs will work together to create the poster design and content.
  • One person from your NRT will be responsible for bringing the poster to the meeting. Please do not bring posters to the welcome event; bring them to Norris University Center (the meeting venue) on the first full day of the meeting.
  • Your poster’s dimensions can be up to 46 inches wide and up to 70 inches high, maximum. You will be sharing a 92 inch-wide display with another team. If your poster is wider than 46 inches, it will obstruct your colleague’s poster. See image below.
  • Please plan for one or more team members to sit or stand next to the poster during your assigned poster session (45-minute session).
  • There will be 3 different poster sessions. Each NRT project will be featured at one session only.
  • Poster locations and sessions will be assigned early in September.
  • Paper or fabric printing is recommended. No cardboard or foam core please. Tacks will be provided.
