Executive Officer

COMMANDER MATTHEW F. GRAY, USN| EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Commander Matthew F. Gray graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a
bachelor’s degree in History. Following flight training in Corpus Christi, Texas and Pensacola,
Florida, he was designated as a Naval Aviator in 2003.

Fleet assignments include: Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 8 (HC-8); Helicopter Sea
Combat Squadron 3 (HSC-3); Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 (HSC-25); and an individual
augmentee to the U.S. Army in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Staff assignments include: U.S. Naval Forces Africa (NAVAF) naval exercise planner;
detachment OIC at Tactical Air Control Squadron 12 (TACRON 12); and currently assigned as
Executive Officer and Associate Professor of Naval Science at the NROTC Chicago Consortium
with staffs located at Northwestern University and Illinois Institute of Technology.
Commander Vosler has more than 2000 flight hours in the MH-60S and his awards include:
Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation
Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, National Defense Service
Medal and various other service and campaign awards.
