Jonas Rosenbrück

Jonas Rosenbrück is a Ph.D. candidate in the Program of Comparative Literary Studies and the Department of German Studies at Northwestern. His research interests include Critical Theory, aesthetics, and the intersection of philosophy and literature. His dissertation project investigates olfactory sense-making in German and French poetry and philosophy. He recently published articles in peer-reviewed journals on allegory and the Baroque drama as well as the problem of obscurity in aesthetics.

Originally from Germany, Jonas received a B.A. in philosophy (summa cum laude) from Yale in 2014. He started volunteering at Stateville and joined the NPEP Graduate Student Advisory Committee in 2019, seeking to contribute to what has been a tremendous educational opportunity for students, faculty, and tutors alike.
