Ashley Brown

Prior to joining the NPEP community, Ashley has served as a higher education administrator in the areas of first-year experience, residential life, and academic affairs. Throughout her career, she has held student-facing roles at Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Oakton Community College, and the University of Chicago and is passionate about developing transformative learning spaces both in and out of the classroom. Ashley’s research interests include feminist praxis in higher education and first-generation college students and their families. She is currently engaging in dissertation research which explores the emergence of initiatives in higher education aimed at examining and transforming understandings of masculinity. In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with family and friends around the city, playing tennis, and traveling.
