I am the current Postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Michigan State University working with Dr. Shawn Wei. My primary research focus is on Machine learning applications for detecting seismic phases. I am specifically working on picking PS converted phase at Tonga subduction Zone.
I’ve completed my PhD at the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences at Northwestern University under the advisement ofProf. Emile Okal. My research focused on earthquake magnitude among other source parameters. I was working on a theoretical explanation for the depth and distance correction in the body wave magnitude equation. I was also working on the energy to moment ratio of earthquakes at different ranges of depth and distance.
