The department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Science is at the forefront in the development of novel rehabilitation approaches based on solid understanding of the neurobiology of movement behavior and disorders. Laboratory based research is focused on movement and rehabilitation science, spanning basic animal physiology, quantitative human research, and clinical applications through the development of therapeutic devices and interventions. The breadth of the research being carried out in the department forms the basis for a solid educational program where scientific and clinical research is the foundation for the evidence based practice educational framework.
