Transportation

Public Transportation

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) maintains an extensive system of elevated trains (also known as “the L”) and buses throughout Chicago and Evanston. The train stop closest to the Kellogg Global Hub is the Purple Line Foster stop on Church and Davis Streets. There is a #201 bus that departs from the Howard St. Red Line terminal and stops on the corner of Foster and Sheridan.
Be advised, while inexpensive, taking the CTA from the airport can take up to 90 minutes and requires transferring trains.
Taxi
Taxi service from both airports can be arranged in advance of your visit for a reduced fare. Pre-arranged rides start at approximately $35 from O’Hare and $50 from Midway. For up-to-date fare information, please contact a taxi service directly.

Parking

Parking is available for free on weekends on the Northwestern campus.  No permit is required on weekends. Detailed parking information is available online including a parking map.

 

Lactation Room

There is a lactation room for nursing mothers available onsite by reservation only. If you have a need to use the room please indicate this when you register for the conference so that we can contact you to set a reservation time. If you registered without indicating your need for this room, email NEUDC2019@northwestern.edu to request a reservation.
Unfortunately, a refrigerator is not available on the premises for storing breast milk. Therefore, be sure to bring an insulated cooler bag and frozen ice packs. Per the CDC, “breast milk can be stored in an insulated cooler bag with frozen ice packs for up to 24 hours when you are traveling. Once you arrive at your destination, milk should be used right away, stored in the refrigerator, or frozen.”
