I defended my Ph.D. in Earth and Planetary Sciences and completed my M.S. in Applied Statistics at Northwestern University in August 2022. I previously completed my M.S in Geosciences at Penn State in 2016.
My research focuses on earthquakes — what they tell us about tectonic processes and the seismic hazards they pose. I incorporate various statistical methods to better understand and quantify earthquake behavior.
I’m also passionate about science policy and ensuring that scientists have a voice in the legislative process.
I am now an NSF postdoc at the University of Chicago. You can reach me at jneely@uchicago.edu
