Vincent McCoy – Technical Support Specialist, University Library

Vincent McCoy has been associated with Northwestern University for 50
years. He first came to Northwestern when he was 16 years old for a summer
music institute for high school students at the Bienen School of Music. A
Northwestern alum, Vince began his freshman year at Northwestern in 1970.
He graduated in 1975 with a Bachelors of Music with a concentration in
Music Education. Upon graduation, Vince started working full-time at the
Northwestern Music Library, and he has worked in various positions at the
University Library for the past 45 years.

Vince’s current position is Technical Support Specialist at the University
Libraries, where he instructs and supports library staff in their use of computer technology. Vince is a Gallup Certified Clifton Strengths Coach. He is a Change Maker from staff cohort 3. Vince has been active in diversity and inclusion issues on campus for his entire time at NU, starting with his undergraduate years. During academic year 2018-19 Vince served on the Gender Queer, Non-Binary Task Force, appointed by the Provost to explore ways that Northwestern can be more supportive and responsive to members of our trans-gender and non-binary communities on campus.
