Black History 365
We celebrate Black History Month in unity every February with a renewed passion once a year. This time-honored tradition is a reminder that Black History is American History. To keep the spirit of sharing and learning about our history we have curated an expanded section dedicated to Black History all year round. Juneteenth Resource Guide
Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th, commemorates the liberation of enslaved Black people from the violence of slavery. It is a celebration of freedom and serves as a stark reminder of both the jubilation of that long-awaited change as well as the need for continued resistance in the face of oppression. BPN welcomes you to review the resources cultivated by Kathleen E Bethel Northwestern University’s former African-American studies Librarian to share and enrich our understanding of Juneteenth as well as the era that sparked a revolution.
