    • COVID-19 Pandemic Response:  The mass vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 is an effective way to mitigate the pandemic. However, as of September 2021, the vast majority of the world’s population remains unvaccinated. This promotes the emergence of variants of concern, like Delta, that may be more transmissible and may break through existing vaccines, suggesting that the course of the pandemic is still tremendously uncertain. Coupling an epidemiological simulation model of SARS-CoV-2 transmission with tools from optimization and simulation, we are developing tools to (i) design robust and time-dynamic interventions to mitigate the risk associated with variants of concerns in partially vaccinated populations, (ii) optimize vaccine prioritization strategies.
