Ava Meux earned a BA in Political Science and MA in Liberal Studies in the Humanities from Indiana University Northwest. She graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago with a MA in Criminology, Law, and Justice in May 2019 and currently teaches at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. She is now pursuing a PhD in social work or sociology to study Chicago’s street gangs, violence, and community. Her research interests also include racism, crime, prison abolition, gender & sexuality, music, and (pop)culture. She enjoys yoga, biking, music, shopping, hanging out with other people, and Indian, ethnic, & garden food.
