AIRPORT TRANSIT

Evanston is serviced by two major airports, O’Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW). If possible, we recommend flying into O’Hare, as transit to Evanston is more straightforward.

Ground transportation from O’Hare

Pace Bus

Pace is a suburban public bus system. It takes approximately one hour to travel to campus and costs $1.75. After arrival, take a shuttle bus from your terminal to long-term parking Lot E. Then get on Pace Bus 250 (Dempster St), which drops off at the CTA Davis station in Evanston. The station is 0.3 miles from the Orrington hotel.

Airport Express shuttle

Airport Express provides shared rides from the airport to campus or Evanston hotels. Cost is about $30. Reserve your spot online AT LEAST 24 hours before your flight.

Prearranged Suburban Taxi

American Taxi offers rides from O’Hare to Evanston for a flat rate of $32. Suburban taxis are not allowed to pick up passengers at the taxi stand, but can be ordered by phone or by smartphone app. They pick up at designated loading zones outside the terminals.

Taxi/Uber/Lyft

Taxi stands are situated at the lower level curb front outside of baggage claim at each terminal. Fares vary based on traffic conditions, but an average fare from O’Hare International Airport to the Evanston campus is $50-$60. All taxis should have a working meter to calculate the fare based on time and mileage.

Uber and Lyft drivers are authorized to pick up riders at O’Hare and Midway airports. Please open your app and follow the directions to the designated pickup zones.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

Driving directions to Northwestern University’s Segal Visitors Center are available here. The Visitors’ center is located directly adjacent to the most convenient parking garage for the conference.

PARKING INFORMATION

The most convenient parking location will be the Segal Visitors Center garage. If the gates are up for the Segal Visitors Center garage, proceed. If the gates are down, take a ticket and pay on your way out. If the Segal Visitor Center garage is full, you can park at the North Campus garage and walk to the Norris University Center. Visitor and employee permits are required weekdays from 8am-4pm in all other lots. Pay stations for daily parking are located in the garage; the daily parking cost is $8.25.
