Thesis topic: Understanding the behavior of regioselectivity in Lewis-acid catalyzed epoxide ring-opening
• Pursuing industry-funded projects to make this reaction more efficient than state-of-the-art processes
• Collaborated on microkinetic models which combined experiments and theory to develop predictive power

Undergraduate Researcher, Department of Chemical Engineering| October 2013 – February 2016
• Engineered a milk pasteurization process utilizing hydrodynamic cavitation(HC) and H2O2 that was 56% more efficient than HC alone
• Achieved 91% more degradation of a persistent pollutant (p-nitrophenol) by using HC in conjunction with an oxidizer (H2O2)
• Observed a 100% enhancement in microbial disinfection when employing HC alongside traditional chemical treatments which made it a promising application for the shipping industry

• Worked in a team which developed a business plan for a cheap water disinfection technology combining UV-LEDs and photocatalysts in ENTREP 490
• Pitched Purpled at the ‘Cleantech University Prize’ competition 2017 and came runners-up among 10 finalists
