Chris Ding

Chris Ding is a dedicated high schooler with a strong passion for history and an ambition to major in the field. Outside of his academic pursuits, Chris is deeply involved in community and global outreach. He serves as the Managing Director of Code2Connect, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding digital literacy education in rural Africa. In this role, Chris oversees program development and implementation, working to bridge the digital divide by providing technology access and training to underserved communities. Chris’ commitment to education extends to his involvement with his local history museum, where he created an outreach program to enhance historical literacy. This program includes interactive workshops and exhibits designed to engage students and community members with historical content. With his dual focus on historical research and educational outreach, Chris hopes to make significant contributions to both his field of study and his global community as he advances in his academic and professional journey.
Chris is a member of “The Chemistry of History: Technology, Mobility, and Trade in West Africa, 400 BC-AD 1830,” Home Life and Domesticity of Governance in the Oyo Empire,” and “Public Educational Engagement” research groups.
