Postdoctoral research fellowship positions are available in the Martin Lab at Northwestern University.  You will integrate a dynamic research team and a highly collaborative research environment in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension and Center for Translational Metabolism and Health located on the Chicago downtown medical campus.  You will work on projects focusing on molecular mechanisms that control the regulation of the bone-derived hormone FGF23 and its impact on bone, renal, and cardiac health, with the goal to improve bone and cardiac health in chronic kidney disease. 
The successful candidate must hold a PhD. in a biomedical sciences related field, must be highly motivated and committed to a career in research, must have an excellent record of publications and communication skills, and should be able to interact with a team.  Prior experience with bone cell culture, protein immunoprecipitation and western blotting, ELISA assays, bone histology, microscopy and microCT is preferred.  Experience in mouse genetics, cardiovascular physiology and/or FGF23 associated diseases is a plus.
