Temple Run 2 is an endless running mobile game made and released by Imangi Studio and actually “produced, designed and programmed by husband and wife team Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova, with art by Kiril Tchangov”. Since the release of the free app on the App Store in 2013 the sequel has been downloaded more than 20 million downloads in the first four days according to CVG.
The game features diffrent maps for your runner to go through whilst running in comparison to the old game, with updates and new ones being released. The visulas of the game is one of the many reasons fans love it, all set on a floating temple through the clouds. Along with these environments come zip ties, mine tracks, jets of fire and waterfalls al while being chased by a gorilla named Cuchank. I was able to find 35 characters are also introduced with 6 of them being premium characters, each having their own strengths which players get to pair with diffrent powerups.
Personally, I love the game and attribute the game’s success too its simplicity, in addition to it being a perfect game to play for a couple of minutes then leave with not much consequence to your level. Yet the game slowly speeds up and becomes more challenging to keep up with which adds to the fun of it. Additionally, because you would have to make a simple mistake to lose it makes it easier to try again hence why it can be so addicting. Adding new characters to the game is also a great way of increasing the attachment between players and their favourite character.
