Plants vs. Zombies 2

Mini Challenge #1

Power Zap

Plants vs. Zombies 2 is a mobile game developed by PopCap Games for both iOS and Android and launched in 2013 by Electronic Arts. In it players go against what seems as an endless stream of brain eating zombies, to fight them they have an army of plants on their side. As players pass levels through “tower defense”, and placing plants onto the board they gain more plants that could be leveled up to withstand the zombies better and better. Other than using plants, there are also diffrent power ups such as power zap which last for for 4 seconds as well as plant food which temporarily powers up a plant. According to EA so far the Plants vs. Zombies 2 app has more than 200 million overall downloads.

Ancient Egypt

Bloomerang

This plant fires boomerangs around every 3 seconds and is able to hit 3 zombies. An advantage of this plant is that it is able to shoot through tombstones as opposed to the peashooter who cannot. When given plant food, boomerangs are temporarily fired both vertically and horizontally.

Wall-nut

This is the first defensive plant that players get in the game. Wall-nut plant is a great way of slowing the zombies down, especially when given plant food. A downside to it is that it isn’t a plant that tends to last however it’s great when backed up with a shooting plant behind it. Wall-nut also doesn’t need many suns which is another advantage.

Twin Sunflower

Being that your plants need suns, twin sunflower is a sun producing plant that does so twice as much compared to the sunflower plant.

Kernel-pult

When fed plant food, Kernel-pult hurls butter on all the zombies paralyzing them for 8 seconds. A disadvantage to it is it low speed during the earlier levels, whereas the Cabbage-pult plant is able to do more damage. However an advantage to it is its ability to kill several flying enemies.

Bonk Choy

This plant attacks by punching zombies who are either one tile in-front or behind it. And “When given Plant Food, Bonk Choy rapidly punches in a 3×3 area around him, dealing 1500 damage per shot over a few seconds.” (source) Bonk. choy is also able to break tombstones. My personal favorite, bonk choy is your ride or die in the game who works great when paired with Wall-Nut.
