Marvel Contest of Champions is a superhero fighting game which is free to play mobile game that offers in app purchasing. It was made by Kabam Games, Inc with its initial release date being on December 10th 2014, the game is compatible with platforms such as Android, iOS as well as Arcade video game.

Collecting upgradable marvel heros and villians and making up your own team “choosing Champions such as: Iron Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Storm, Star-Lord, Gamora, Spider-Man, Deadpool, Magneto and Winter Soldier”  you go on a quest to become the ultimate marvel champion. The game can be single or a multiplayer gamer where you’re able to connect with friends who can fight beside you on your quest with your end goal being to defeat Kang & Thanos and a new super powerful cosmic competitor stopping the destruction of the marvel universe.

As you collect and level up your players through the story line, you also get bonuses and receive synergy bonuses and team affiliation bonus that aid your gameplay.

The mechanics of the game fit the fighting genre where players swipe and tap in order to fight, players are also become aware of these controls in early stages of the game as well as after the first fight tutorial where they get alerted of fighting strategies and controles. Some of these controls include clicking on the left side to defense and the right side to attack.

 

Another feature of the game is its varying map locations including the Avengers Tower, the Astral Plane and the Sanctum Sanctorum among others. As well as over 52 marvel heroes to fight & collect!

 

 

 

 

Gameplay

The game has continuously received generally positive feedback and as of 2015 it had already over 40 million downloads. It’s in app purchases are through players collecting or purchasing its 3 main in-game currencies which are gold, units, battlechips and at times special event currencies. Lastly, even though the game has over 52 marvel heroes to collect many player agree that the game should feature more characters.
