LS4 will be conducted with the 1 m La Silla Schmidt telescope.

Observations will be obtained with the upgraded, 268 Megapixel QUEST camera. The 32 LBNL deep-depletion well CCDs provide a total field of view of ~20 sq. deg. with 1 arcsec/pixel.

The survey will collect 45 s exposures (+15 s for readout/slew) allowing LS4 to observe >10,000 sq. deg. in a typical night.

LS4 will use a single fixed filter tray that illuminates each quadrant of the detector with a different filter. The filters will be g, i, i, z. Color information will be obtained by dithering the camera. Light curves for LS4 discovered and monitored sources will be in the g, i, and z bands.
