Daniel Linna - Director

Daniel W. Linna Jr. has a joint appointment at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and McCormick School of Engineering as the Director of Law and Technology Initiatives and a Senior Lecturer. Dan’s teaching and research focus on innovation and technology, including computational law, artificial intelligence, data analytics, leadership, operations, and innovation frameworks.

 

Francesca Bullerman - Program Assistant

Francesca Bullerman joined the Northwestern Law community in October of 2017. She was hired as a Faculty Assistant, supporting ten residential law faculty members and the MSL adjuncts. Her goal is to interact with as many people at the school as possible, while making their time here as easy, memorable and enjoyable as possible. Francesca is also the Chicago Chapter leader of the Alumni Association for Binghamton University, and an animal rescue volunteer.

David Bond - Research Assistant

David Bond is a third year JD/MBA candidate interested in business litigation. David is interested in researching how technology improves efficiency and accessibility in litigation as well as keeping up to date on the use of AI in legal services.

Kimberly Charles - Research Assistant

Kimberley Charles is a JD/MBA candidate at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and Kellogg School of Management. Her research focuses on generative artificial intelligence in the legal and business contexts. She is also founder and CEO of Cane Cutter’s Rum. Prior to law school, Kimberley worked at Deloitte Consulting, LLP and received her B.A. in Political Science from Brown University.

Yona Isaacs - Research Assistant

Yona Isaacs is a 2024 JD candidate at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Her research interests include algorithmic bias and accountability, and data privacy concerns related to generative AI and the use of large language models. Prior to law school, Yona worked as a social worker, data analyst, and neuroimaging researcher. She received her B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience, and her M.S.W. in Social Policy and Evaluation from the University of Michigan.

Shraeya Iyer - Research Assistant

Shraeya Iyer is a sophomore at Northwestern University studying Computer Science with a minor in Philosophy on the Pre-Law track. She is interested in data privacy, information ethics, IP law, and the intersection between AI and Law. She is involved in research that is focused on improving an LLM’s ability to perform legal reasoning.

Brooke Leber - Research Assistant

Brooke Leber is a senior at Northwestern University studying Applied Mathematics with minors in Computer Science and Data Engineering. After taking Professor Daniel Linna’s undergraduate course on the Introduction to Law and Digital Technologies, she wanted to continue to learn more and become involved in LTI. 

Seya Lewis-Meeks - Research Assistant

Seya Lewis-Meeks is a JD candidate at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Seya’s research focuses on Generative Artificial Intelligence and its potential to disrupt the legal field. Prior to law school, Seya worked in the e-commerce fashion department at a large retailer, where she was responsible for driving the growth and leading the national brands strategy for their women’s handbags business. She was also a data science fellow at Correlation One. Seya received her B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University.

Gianna Miller - Research Assistant

Gianna Miller is a Juris Doctor candidate at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Her research focuses on Generative Artificial Intelligence and its effect on law and legal services. Prior to law school, Gianna worked in the entertainment industry helping brand clients align their philanthropic initiatives with business goals. Gianna received her B.A. in Visual and Media Studies from Duke University.

Annalise Peterson - Research Assistant

Annalise Peterson is a junior at Northwestern University studying Journalism and Legal Studies with a minor in Advanced Asian Languages. Outside of LTI, she works for WNUR 89.3, Northwestern’s student radio station, as well as the Northwestern Undergraduate Prison Education Partnership.

Victoria Reznik - Research Assistant

Victoria is a third year JD/MBA student at Northwestern University. She is interested in distributive ledger technology and use cases for AI in the commercial real estate industry.

Kiyan Savar - Research Assistant

Kiyan is a 3rd year JD/MBA student. His research focuses on incorporating legal principles into the development and implementation of AI/ML systems, and leveraging AI/ML systems to facilitate the practice of law. Prior to school Kiyan worked as a big data strategy consultant focusing on data engineering, machine learning, and data privacy solutions. Kiyan received his B.A. in Mathematics from Hamilton College.

David Shekman - Research Assistant

David is a 3L student at the Law School with a focus on applying technology to the practice of law, and will be joining Cooley in San Francisco after graduation. Besides his work with LTI, he is also a Research Assistant for Professor Dan Linna and conducting his own Senior Research on applying quantitative methods to transactional legal practice. He has published an article on Designing Fiduciary AI, and also pursues various data science and automation projects in his free time. 

Natalie Wu - Research Assistant

Natalie Wu is a senior at Northwestern University studying Journalism and Economics with a minor in Legal Studies. Outside of LTI she started Eight Counts Ballet Company at Northwestern, and she is currently spending her quarter as a wealth reporter for Forbes.
