Daniel Linna - Director
Daniel W. Linna Jr. has a joint appointment at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and McCormick School of Engineering as the Director of Law and Technology Initiatives and a Senior Lecturer. Dan’s teaching and research focus on innovation and technology, including computational law, artificial intelligence, data analytics, leadership, operations, and innovation frameworks.
Francesca Bullerman - Program Assistant
Francesca Bullerman joined the Northwestern Law community in October of 2017. She was hired as a Faculty Assistant, supporting ten residential law faculty members and the MSL adjuncts. Her goal is to interact with as many people at the school as possible, while making their time here as easy, memorable and enjoyable as possible. Francesca is also the Chicago Chapter leader of the Alumni Association for Binghamton University, and an animal rescue volunteer.
Harshana Ghoorhoo - Research Assistant
Harshana is a JD candidate at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Harshana’s research focuses on two areas: 1) how to apply AI capabilities to the legal field and 2) AI regulation and export control for national security purposes. Prior to law school, Harshana worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in DC. She received her B.S. in International Relations from Seton Hall University.
Shraeya Iyer - Research Assistant
Shraeya Iyer is a junior at Northwestern University studying Computer Science with a minor in Philosophy on the Pre-Law track. She is interested in data privacy, information ethics, IP law, and the intersection between AI and Law. She is involved in research that is focused on improving an LLM’s ability to perform legal reasoning.
Billy Kirchgessner - Research Assistant
Billy Kirchgessner is a senior in the McCormick School of Engineering studying Computer Science with an AI Concentration and a Minor in Data Science and Engineering. Billy’s research focuses on leveraging LLMs to create educational tools for law students and faculty.
Annalise Peterson - Research Assistant
Annalise Peterson is a junior at Northwestern University studying Journalism and Legal Studies with a minor in Advanced Asian Languages. Outside of LTI, she works for WNUR 89.3, Northwestern’s student radio station, as well as the Northwestern Undergraduate Prison Education Partnership.
Maanvi Sarwadi - Research Assistant
Maanvi Sarwadi is a sophomore at Northwestern University studying Computer Science with a minor in Legal Studies. Her interests lie at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Law, in which she wants to become more involved in developing legal tech for law firms. Outside of LTI, she is working with the US Small Business Administration to help develop their AI program & policies.
Zihao Wang - Research Assistant
Zihao is a JD candidate at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. He contributes to research on the application of technology in the legal field and participates in the CS + Law workshop. Prior to law school, Zihao worked as a journalist in China, and he earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the Communication University of China.
Spencer Wartner - Research Assistant
Spencer is a JD candidate at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, with a passion for the intersection of law and technology. He is particularly focused on leveraging innovative legal solutions to enhance access to justice for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Spencer completed his undergraduate studies from Minnesota State University.
