Post Doctoral Fellow

Multiple HIN-funded post-doctoral positions are available at the Department of Radiology, Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University, located at the heart of Chicago downtown.  We are a dynamic team of physicists, engineers, and clinicians conducting cutting-edge imaging research in a 9,000 square foot center that houses state-of-the-art research-dedicated Prisma 3.0 Tesla, two Tim Trio 3.0 Tesla and 1.5 Tesla Siemens Medical MR scanners and a 7.0 Tesla Bruker scanner. There is also a Siemens C-ARM angiographic system, a Nexstim Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) machine and an MR simulator system that can be used to train subjects to the magnet environment. Successful applicants will work on multidisciplinary NIH-funded projects with a close collaboration with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional MRI Specialist with strong expertise in pulse sequence development. Experience in MRI thermometry is a plus. The successful candidate will bring their robust knowledge, deep curiosity, and commitment to innovation to our team. Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in MRI pulse sequence development.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and optimizing MRI protocols.
  • Proficient understanding of the technical aspects of MRI equipment and software.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Research Assistant

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a motivated and tech-savvy Research Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a background in engineering, familiarity with computer simulations, lab equipment operation, and a passion for learning new techniques and software. Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in electromagnetic simulations, helping design and develop RF and microwave equipment for MRI imaging.
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Conduct thorough, accurate data analysis and maintain meticulous records.
  • Work closely with our team to conduct experiments and interpret results.
  • Learn and adapt to new software as required for various projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members, contributing to a positive, productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in computer simulations and experience with lab equipment.
  • Experience in coding, particularly with MATLAB, is essential.

PhD and Master Students
