Quantum Systems

Quantum mechanics has forever changed our understanding of reality with its extraordinarily precise predictive power. In stark contrast to classical systems, quantum mechanics allows for significantly stronger statistical correlations between the system’s constituents. Such quantum correlations are the basis of recent progress in quantum computing, quantum communication and quantum information theory as well as a better understanding of quantum criticality. In our work we study the emerging correlations of interacting quantum systems with exact mappings as well as with Monte Carlo and Renormalization Group techniques. The results of the project have both fundamental and technological impact.
