Dr. Katelyn Leisman is an assistant research professor in the Engineering Sciences and Applied Math department at Northwestern. Before coming to Northwestern, she was a Doob research professor at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign, and she received her PhD in applied mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Her research interests include mathematical models of physical and biological systems (including yeast cells and covid 19), as well as nonlinear partial differential equations and dynamical systems. She also enjoys cooking, kayaking, and playing the violin.
