  • aPlus+ Attendance
aPlus+ Attendance easily integrates with Canvas and provides a centralized reporting and attendance management system. Available to Kellogg faculty only.

    Course Reserves
Course Reserves is managed by the Northwestern Library. Course Reserves materials include PDFs of book chapters and articles, links to articles, streaming audio, and streaming video.

    Collaborations & Google Drive
Collaborations in Canvas now includes a Google Drive integration. This feature allows instructors and students the ability to authorize their Google Drive accounts in Canvas, promoting easier access to creating, sharing, and collaborating. This tool is intended for use in Collaborations, Cloud Assignments, and content sharing. Google Drive Collaborations include the use of Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

    LockDown Browser & Monitor
Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Canvas. Students are unable to copy, print, chat, or access any other applications or websites during an online exam. Respondus Monitor is an optional service enabled through LockDown Browser. Monitor uses webcam and video technology to allow students the opportunity to take quizzes or exams remotely.

    Crowdmark
Crowdmark is a collaborative online grading software optimal for large classes with paper exams and multiple graders. While normally limited to WCAS faculty, Crowdmark is available to all Northwestern faculty during the 2020-2021 academic year.

    Perusall
Perusall is an annotation tool that integrates with Canvas. Perusall allows students and instructors to discuss, comment on, collaboratively mark up, and post questions on documents and textbooks. Students can take notes and answer each other's questions directly within the text, while instructors can create assignments and groups.

    Hypothesis
Hypothesis enables students to collaboratively comment on or annotate online texts, such as web pages, online PDFs, digital articles, or even specific course files in Canvas.

    Flipgrid
Flipgrid is a free video discussion platform from Microsoft. In Flipgrid, instructors post discussion prompts and students respond and reply to each other with short videos. In Canvas, Flipgrid can be added to your course's left navigation. Flipgrid is similar to the Discussions tool in Canvas, only students post and reply with self-made videos. Flipgrid offers additional options, such as adding links or sticky notes to videos.

    NU Worldwide
See when in the world your students are during remote instruction.

    Qualtrics
Put Qualtrics surveys in your Canvas course. SurveyNU is an LTI tool that you can use to embed Qualtrics surveys into your Canvas course. Information from Canvas such as user name, course enrollment counts, instructor email addresses and more can be forwarded to Qualtrics automatically using this tool.
