Hi there!
I am a fifth-year linguistics PhD student at Northwestern University affiliated with the Prosody & Speech Dynamics Lab. My dissertation work explores the role that the acoustic dimensions of pitch and duration play in conveying intensification.
Before beginning my PhD, I received degrees in linguistics and psychology from the College of William and Mary in 2019 (Senior Thesis: Persuasion in Discourse – Evaluation Methods of Vegans).
I am a New York Times crossword enthusiast and sometimes like to write about the linguistics of crosswords. Check out my personal blog if that’s of interest to you!
