Internship Opportunity

The application for summer undergraduate students interns for The Kan Collaboratory is currently closed. The application for summer 2025 will open in February 2025. Past summer students have assisted on the Technology-Enhanced Asthma Care in Children at Clinic and Home (TEACCCH) study and other research. FAQs

What are the dates of the internship?

The internship runs from approximately June to August. The start and end dates are flexible to accommodate students’ school schedules. Students can expect to spend anywhere from 20-40 hours per week interning in the lab depending on their availability. The internship will likely be hybrid with a mostly in-person modality.   

What tasks do students work on?

Students might design recruitment communications (e.g., website and video explaining the study to potential research participants), review participant eligibility for the study, assist preparation for and execute research enrollment visits, and perform literature reviews. Previous interns have designed recruitment videos, infographics/visual abstracts, websites, and more. Interns can expect to spend the summer learning about technology based healthcare interventions, public health, and the overall research process.       

Do students receive a stipend or other compensation?

Students are encouraged to apply for grants from their university. 

What are the requirements for students?

Students will need proof of vaccination and complete on-boarding requirements for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Students will need to arrange their own transportation to Chicago-based for on-site days.
