About Me

I am a psychologist and hearing scientist with a passion for research on aging and hearing loss.

I am currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University. Before coming to Chicago, I finished my Ph.D. training in Experimental Psychology at University of California, San Diego.

My research interests include:

1) the perceptual and cognitive mechanisms that contribute to older adults’ speech perception difficulty under adverse conditions;

2) the psychosocial consequences of hearing loss in the aging cohort.

My research is driven by the ultimate goal of improving older individuals’ communication experience and promoting healthy aging, particularly for those older individuals’ with age-related hearing loss.
