Illinois Veteran Suicide Death in 2021 Fact Sheet
In a 2021 data analysis by Illinois Violent Death Reporting System is reporting 172 veteran suicide deaths. Thirty-five of those deaths reported a mental health problem and 50 reported a physical health problem. Other mental health circumstances that was reported were depressed mood (26), mental health treatment (14) and suicide thought history (24). The most impacted were non-Hispanic White males over the of age of 65-years-old.
