THE APPLICATION PERIOD FOR 2019 HAS ENDED.
Thank you to everyone who has submitted an application to participate in the writing cohort of the Indigenous Lecture & Writing Series. We invite everyone to attend the lecture portion of the series and you can find the monthly schedule of presenters here.
“For us, the ceremony is about a story, and for all of those, you just have to let it flow, because it’s built on relationships. And when you use a story, your own or others’, it’s claiming a voice and establishing a relationship” –Shawn Wilson (Opaskwayak Cree)

In addition, participants will be invited to attend a 3-day writing retreat to work on a writing project that will be ready for submission by the end of the program. Sessions will focus on various ranges of scholarship and genres of writing including creative, academic, editorial, etc. Twenty (20) Indigenous folks will be invited to participate in ILWS 2019.
Public lectures will take place on the last Thursday of the month from 1-2:30pm. Immediately following the lecture, the cohort will meet until 4:30pm with a writing facilitator. Fellows are expected to complete pre-work in a timely manner and begin convenings ready to fully engage. Participation in the 3-day retreat is not required.
