A Spotify Original Podcast about The Office, its origins, and its history; hosted by none other than Kevin Malone. What else can you ask for?

Over the summer break, I was able to binge The Office, among other shows, from start to finish for the first time. But as soon as I was done, I wanted more. I watched all the bloopers and deleted scenes, and saw several interviews with the cast. Even after watching Steve Carell (Micheal Scott) deliver his acceptance speeches at several award shows, I still wanted more. Enter An Oral History of The Office.

The 12-episode show is hosted by Brian Baumgartner, who played the cheeky accountant Kevin on the show. What makes this podcast special is that it’s not just two people gushing about the show for an hour. Instead, each 40-minute episode is highly produced and edited to mark every major milestone in the history of the show. The entire cast makes an appearance at various different points but more importantly, it also includes the stories of the creators and the producers. Brian takes a deep dive into the show’s journey, tracing all the way back to its origins and how the adaptation made its way from British to American TV, and later went on to conquer the globe. I will spare you the details so you can experience it yourself.

The Office has had a great summer if you ask me. It is more popular than ever, even more than Friends, which cannot be said about most shows which ended nearly 7 years ago. Cast member John Krasinski (Jim Halpert) started a YouTube channel from his home and somehow managed to reunite the full cast. On the other hand, Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly) and Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin) continued to pump out episodes for their own rewatch podcast. While there are several other podcasts out there dedicated to the comedy show, An Oral History of The Office is arguably the definitive The Office podcast. It even has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 on Apple Podcasts. But let’s be honest, you will listen to the podcast if you’re a fan of the show, regardless of the rating.

If you’re like me and you also want more from this classic show which last aired in 2013, this podcast is perfect to quench your thirst.
