Cocoa and Conversation:

It is the time of the year to sip on hot cocoa while discussing important topics affecting our GWIP Community ☕️ 💜! The GWIP advocacy committee is inviting you to an event on Nov 20th at 5pm in Tech F210, where we will strategize plans for building a strong mentorship program in GWIP and discuss issues affecting our community! Join us and get a chance to win some of our amazing gifts during the raffle 🎟️ 🎁 ! Hot cocoa and cookies will also be provided ☕️ 🍪.

GWIP Welcome Back Bash:

We are excited to invite you to GWIP’s Welcome Back Bash! 🍂 Join us for a relaxed afternoon of trivia, boba, and snacks✨

Brunch with GWIP:

Join the Graduate Womxn in Physics Group for an end-of-year wrap up event. Plus, enjoy a yummy brunch including juice, pancakes, and more!
The event will take place on May 24th, 10:30 – 11:30 am in Room F160 in Tech.

GWIP Coffee Series:

⚠️The professional development committee at Graduate Womxn in Physics and Astronomy (GWiP) presents the third and final Coffee Series discussion of the (academic) year!⚠️ Join us on Monday, April 29th from 2-3 PM in TGS commons to chat about surviving and thriving as a womxn in physics and astronomy with senior graduate students and post-docs including Monica Gallegos-Garcia, Yiping Wang, Innes Bigaran, Goni Halevi and Diane Codding over bobba, coffee and yummy treats!

Mug Painting with GWIP:

Join the Graduate Womxn in Physics for a fun-filled mug-painting activity that promises laughter, art, and the chance to personalize your very own mug! When? April 12 at 5:30pm. Where? ARTica Studios (located in the Norris University Center).

GWIP Coffee Series:

Join us on Wednesday, February 14th 🌹 from 3:30-4:30 PM in Mudd 2124 to chat about mentorship, networking, and building a support system over sweet treats from Bennison’s and Colectivo coffee with Prof. Michelle Driscoll!

Board Game Night with GWIP:

Get ready for an evening of great company and board games with GWIP (Graduate Womxn in Physics and Astronomy)! 🎉 Join us on January 30th at 5:30pm in F160 for an opportunity to connect, build our community, and share laughs. There will be FREE pizza and sparkling cider to keep your spirits high and your gaming skills sharp. 🍕

GWIP Community Conversations:

You’re invited to our winter event, Community Conversations, hosted by GWIP (Graduate Womxn in Physics and Astronomy)! Join us as we discuss the experiences of minority genders in the department and explore potential areas of improvement. Mark your calendars for January 10th at 4:30pm and we’ll see you in the Mudd Library Room 2124! We’ve got FREE churros and hot chocolate for you!

GWIP Coffee Series:

This is an informal discussion series with a senior womxn in the CIERA/P&A community on topics relevant to fostering success as a womxn in physics and astronomy that we will be held on a ~1.5 month basis. Our first event is Wednesday November 15th from 3:30-4:30 PM in Tech F210 with Professor Allison Strom as our lead speaker. For our inaugural event, we will be discussing topics related to work-life balance and family, mental health, networking, and making connections.

GWIP Fall Welcome Social:

Get ready for our Fall Welcome Social hosted by GWIP (Graduate Womxn in Physics and Astronomy)! Mark your calendars for October 24th, 2023, at 5pm, and join us at the TGS commons (2122 Sheridan Rd Rm #140). We’ve got FREE boba tea for you!
