Dr. Giuseppe Bilotta, from the Istituto Nazionale Geofisica e Vulcanologia in Catania, Sicily, visited the group on September 6-14, 2019, to integrate new developments into the main code branch for GPUSPH.
Dr. Nourah Almashaan visit: Aug 2019
Dr. Nourah Almashaan, the Kuwait University leader of our wave forces project, visited Northwestern University August 21-30, 2019. The purpose of the trip was to see the progress on integrating Project Chrono FEA module into the wave model GPUSPH.

Dr. Dalrymple visited Kuwait University, where he is doing collaborative research with Dr. Nourah Almashaan on wave forces on offshore structures involving GPUSPH. The physical modeling associated with the research is being conducted at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), under the guidance of Dr. Subramaniam Neelamani. The above picture shows the three researchers talking at the KISR laboratory. Dr. Dalrymple also gave a talk at Kuwait University entitled “Modeling Waves and Offshore Structures with GPUSPH.”
SPHERIC 2019, June, 2019
Vito Zago attended the annual SPHERIC meeting at the University of Exeter, England, where he presented a paper on the coupling of GPUSPH with the Project Chrono Finite Element Analysis module. This meeting is the largest SPH meeting in the world and is coordinated by the ERCOFTAC Special Interest Group for SPH.
